A dean of students’ welfare also known as dean of student affairs responds to students' needs at the college and plans programs for students in the campus. Dean of students work primarily with non-academic issues, plans and coordinates various college activities related to students in the campus. The Office of the Dean Students welfare provides a framework within which students can explore the various freedoms available to them during their presence in the college. It serves as a liaison between college administrators, faculty and student representatives.

Student life is about learning: not only one's academic subjects and course material, but also learning to adapt and thrive in the world, make life-long friends and acquire skills and values. The office of the Dean Students Welfare at JSSATEB is engaged in helping students learn in every sense of the term “to the best of their ability”. JSSATEB is having a strong tradition of encouraging students to take active part in organizing workshops, lectures, tutorials, extra-curricular events, leisure time activities and notably major cultural and technical festivals. The undisputed success of these events is an index of growing self-confidence and self-reliance with which students team go about organizing them.

At JSSATEB, Dean Students Welfare has the following responsibilities:
  • Maintaining discipline and decorum among students in the college campus.
  • Liaison with parents/guardians about their ward’s progress and problems.
  • Maintaining a ragging free campus.
  • Organizing extra-curricular activities.
  • Organizing students counselling, mentoring and other related activities
  • Coordinating merit cum means scholarships and other scholarships.
  • Managing the whole Alumni affairs of the Institution.
  • Organizing Sports competitions in the college campus from time to time thereby ensuring representation at the University level.
  • Coordinating to strengthen Student chapters and Clubs.
  • Attestation of students’ certificates.
  • Coordinating technical and scientific events for exchanging ideas.
  • Coordinating to establish industry supported labs
