The education system is changing rapidly and various government departments are recruiting the students through competitive exams across the country. Various competitive exams are conducted throughout the year in different time frames. The candidates are ranked according to the grades and marks obtained and recruited accordingly. Millions of students appear to these exams every year. Competitive exams in India are mainly conducted by public sector organization (Central and State) with an intention to recruit suitable candidates. During the recent years, many engineering students are appearing for various competitive exams conducted by Central/State government bodies for their employment. In Karnataka state, the recruitment to various administrative positions is conducted by KPSC. To create awareness among students of JSSATE Bengaluru right from the first year of engineering, a competitive exams awareness committee is formed to prepare the students.

JSS Training Institute for Competitive Examination (JSSTICE) is a pioneering training institute established a quarter-century ago by His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the benevolent 24th Pontiff of Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, Suttur to fulfil the desire of his predecessor. It has been serving the brilliant and promising youngsters aspiring to join the civil services (IAS, IPS, IRS, etc.) of the Union of India and the state of Karnataka. So far it has trained 2,473 candidates of whom 403 have been successful and they are serving the country as officers IAS, IPS, IRS and KAS officers state Government.
